Berrybank Wind Farm Project Update – August 2019
Nathan Contractor’s fastest growing sector in 2018/19 has been energy infrastructure, with our third Wind Farm project commencing in July at Berrybank in Victoria. MPC-Kinetic is busily constructing site roads and crane hard-stands, weather permitting – it’s winter in Victoria, and hence the local conditions are very wet and challenging! However, the project team is enthusiastically getting on with the job, and we expect to complete all concrete works around Xmas 2019.
Nathan has continued to build a reputation for delivering outstanding structural concrete solutions on Wind Farm projects, safely and ahead of schedule. We’re looking forward to seeing out 2019 with the completion of Berrybank WF and the commencement of another large Wind Farm project in NSW.
BERRYBANK WIND FARM – SCOPE OF WORKS
Nathan will construct 43 reinforced concrete footings for the wind towers. We’ll tie over 2,800 tonnes of steel reinforcement, place 20,000 cubic metres of concrete and our site team will work almost 45,000 hours. The Nathan guys have battled rain and snow to get the project off to a great start, and are on-schedule for a December 2019 completion.
Here’s what we’ve been up to so far…
SITE MANAGEMENT TEAM
Joseph Walker – Senior Supervisor
Tristan Watkins – Site Engineer
Anne Boyd – WHS Manager
The SM team is responsible for planning and programming of the works and for monitoring the safety and well-being our people. We are aiming for a zero-incident site and want to ensure everyone stays safe.
THE MONEY SHOT
There’s nothing we love more than watching the sun set on a new job. Ah, bliss!
