General Homes Drive, Mascot NSW
Nathan contracted to RIX Group to construct 525 lineal metres of retaining walls. The walls were single sided and up to 9.0 metres in height. The scope of works included the supply of labour, plant and temporary formwork materials necessary for the formwork erection and concrete placement of wall footings, walls and invert drains at the top of the walls.
All works were carried out at night in an eight-hour shift and involved the temporary closure of traffic lanes and work under lights. Challenges included working within a tight, 8-hour window of site availability at night, limited work space for plant and achieving the specified surface finish quality, with a “rope” finish design.
The client placed a high focus on work safety, construction quality and program performance.
